This policy explains what personal data Money Map collects, why, and your rights over it. It is written with UK data protection law (UK GDPR) in mind.
1. Who is responsible
Money Map is operated by an individual, who is the data controller for the personal data described here. For any privacy request or question, contact jautyw@gmail.com.
2. What we collect
- Account details — your name and email address from your Google account, used to sign you in and identify your data.
- Board data you enter — the income, spending, accounts, balances, and labels you add to your money map.
- Bank data (only if you connect a bank) — account names, balances, and up to 90 days of transactions retrieved read-only via TrueLayer, used to help you build your map. This is held only transiently to complete the import.
- Consent records — the version of the terms you accepted and when.
3. Lawful basis
We process your account and board data to provide the service you have signed up for (performance of a contract). Connecting a bank account and importing transactions is done on the basis of your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
4. Where your data is stored
Data is stored in a hosted Supabase (PostgreSQL) database and transmitted over encrypted connections. Access is restricted to the operator for the purposes of running the service.
5. Sharing and sub-processors
We do not sell your personal data and do not share it for advertising. We rely on a small number of service providers to run Money Map: Supabase (database hosting), Google (authentication), TrueLayer (open banking, only if you connect a bank), and our hosting provider.
6. Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time by emailing jautyw@gmail.com. Imported bank data is cleared once the import is complete.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or erase your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. If you are unhappy with how your data is handled, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
8. Cookies
Money Map uses a single sign-in session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
